About Me

My name is Sarah Ceaser.  I am an English teacher at Echai Tekoa Elementary and Junior High School.  I have been teaching for 6 years, and this is the beginning of my third year running my school's English department.  I made alliya from California in 2011, straight to Tekoa.  I married my husband, Nickoma, in 2015.  I gave birth to our first daughter, Siikwan, in 2018.  Both my husband and daughter have names which stem from Native American language and heritage.

I believe that it is our duty as teachers to rise to the challenges of 21st century learners.  Our students are immersed in a world of technology.  It is part of our responsibility as teachers to teach them how to use it effectively.  I look forward to learning how to put this into practice.

  1. Welcome to the course Sarah! That is so interesting having native Indian names. Our children's names also follow a "theme" but not so exotic as your names. All our children have the name of G-d in their name: Dael, Todaya, Ronel, Elchai, Taleel and Orya. Even our grandson follows this pattern: Benaya!

    1. I think it's lovely that your kids and even grandson all follow a pattern. My husband's father is Chief of their tribe so honoring their heritage by way of names felt fitting.

  2. Sarah, I adore the name Siikwa and your success is truly an inspiration to all Olim who hope to succeed in the education field. absolutely agree with you that it is our duty as teachers to "rise to the challenges of the 21st Century". Keeping up with ever-changing technology and ensuring we are equipped to help both ourselves and our students is so important!

  3. I think what you said about rising to the challenges of 21st century learners is really powerful. As teachers it is incredibly important for us to meet our students wherever they are at, in this generation that means we need to learn how to use technology in order to be able to better reach our students. Kol Hakavod really nice!
